Self Care- It's Important!
Here are some things that you can do to help yourself.
If you do these continually, they'll become a habit. Then you'll reap the benefits of taking care of yourself!
Don't procrastinate, start with baby steps. Your future self will appreciate it!
- Say no when you need to, to protect your time and energy. This doesn't mean to start saying no to everyone lol. Sometimes we should sacrifice. However, there are times that you really need down time, or to do important things that are a priority.
- Journaling can help you express and organize your thoughts and emotions. It doesn't have to be anything formal, just jot down your thoughts in a notebook or digital notepad. It's also great because you can look back on your writings to see how you've accomplished things. Also, to see where you made wrong choices and you can learn from them.
- Eat healthier when you're able to. Make better choices with food. I'm not saying to only eat healthy food (that can be a future goal), but start making mindful, nutritious choices. You can start with instead of eating sugary cereal or a breakfast sandwich in the morning, have a banana and a yogurt. Then slowly, over time, add healthier foods to other times.
- Keep nutritious snacks in your car, in your desk, in your purse etc so that when you may be really hungry then you're not tempted to eat fast food. You have something on hand right away. The best thing to do to prevent those "oh my gosh am starving" times, is to eat every so often to keep your glucose in balance. So you won't experience the highs and lows. Talk to your doctor to find out how often you should eat (doesn't have to be big meals either), because everyone may be different. Your doctor knows your health conditions and they'll be the best to ask.
Okay, so there's 3 things that you can start doing for yourself and you'll see the benefits of them probably after just 2 weeks. Easy peasy, no excuses 😍
