SOAP Bible Study

Ever hear of the SOAP method for a short Bible study?

Well, I'm going to tell you anyways! 😛

It's a simple and easy way to learn more about Scripture verses.

SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer.

1. Pick a Scripture theme, like joy or anger, etc. Find a monthly Scripture plan for that topic (do a Google search for "Scripture writing plan for the topic of  (insert your topic)" and you'll find a lot of choices. (I'm including one that I made at the bottom of this post).

2. Use a SOAP template, you can find free and paid ones online or make your own (I'm including one that I made at the bottom of this post).

3. You can start at the 1st of a month or you can start the day that you are on now. Whichever way you feel is more organized for you. Most people start at the 1st of the month, as it's easier to keep track that way.

4. Open your Bible to the Scripture verse that you're on. Pray that God will give you wisdom and discernment as you study His Word.

5. Answer the questions in the SOAP template.

6. Share on social media, with family, friends or whoever you think may be inspired and encouraged by it.

Scripture- Write down the Scripture verse

Observation- Who is the author? What is the meaning of the verse in context?

Application- How can I apply this to my life?

Prayer- Make a prayer coordinating it with this verse/topic
